Via Eutelsat 9A (9 degrees east), frequency 11.919 MHz, SVT World can be viewed across Europe, North Africa and West Asia.

In this area, SVT World has subscribers in over 60 countries from Afghanistan in the East to the Azores in the West, but most of our viewers are to be found in Finland where the channel has been broadcasted terrestrially since 1988.

Via satellite in Africa, Asia & Australia
In this area the channel is distributed via the Thaicom 5 satellite´s global footprint, 78,5 degrees East, frequency 3.640 MHz. SVT World is distributed digitally and encrypted in Cryptoguard. Please note that reception from Eutelsat 9A is always preferable in areas that are covered by both satellites, as smaller dishes are required for reception from Eutelsat 9A.

What is needed for reception via satellite:

Global beam coverage on Thaicom 5 covers a large area. A drawback with the large coverage is that the reception requires, according to the satellite company, antennas that are between 2,4 - 3 meters.
