A potent cocktail of traditional socialist repression against motorists and the lack of language-tests for immigrants have caused a very unlikely political scandal in Sweden.

Last christmas, the Sigtuna KD politician Elias Mardini was pulled over by highway patrolman after not stopping at a red light at a crossing in Märsta.
"Merry Christmas - can't we just try to forget about all of this," Mardini said as he tried to hand over a bottle of wine to the traffic officer. In a normal country, the story would have ended there. But since this is Sweden, the land where anti-motorist crackdowns happen every hour of the day, Police decided to report Mardini for bribery. Mardini does however say that he is not guilty: - The Police officer asked where I was from. When I said Lebanon, he called med pig and said 'this ain't Lebanon', Mardini told Expressen. In a Sweden governed by the Alliance this would never have happened, for two reasons: Firstly, police officers would be out chasing high school terrorists instead of harassing innocent motorists. Secondly, if Folkpartiet's Swedish language test for immigrant wanna-be cititzens had been implemented, Mardini would have spoken proper Swedish and the police officer would not have suspected him of being criminal due to socio-cultural causes (the 'Rojas doctrine', editor's remark). Thus proven that this little incident is due to social democracy. Mardini has been forced to take a timeout from politics. He now the growing number of KD martyrs in Operation Freedom.
